Table Read Days on "Kickin It" begin on Wednesday's. Bright and early I drive on to the lot at Hollywood Center Studios and head to craft services for a bit of breakfast and on to the classroom for about an hour of school before the read begins. The cast, producers. and a few writers meet around 10 for a pre-table read. We kinda knock out the cobwebs from the show taping the night before and merge ourselves into the new script for the week.
At 11 am, the Disney executives join us and we begin our main table read. Unlike most shows, we perform the scripts full out with props, stunts and pure adrenaline to showcase the writers words.
We break for lunch around noon and during that time we eat a quick bite then head to the Mancave to hangout and play music.
After lunch, we head into the studio for rehearsal to set blocking. During this time, I'm in and out of school... only heading onto the set when needed for my scenes to block. After rehearsal, which usually runs a couple of hours, I head back into school till about 6pm. Some evenings I stay a bit longer to go hang out in the writers room while they rework the weeks script. Its pretty interesting to watch the process start from the page and onto the stage.
Hope you enjoyed the day!
